Giving back to our customers this holiday season

This holiday season, my team of technicians and I were able to do something really special for customers in our Hayward, CA community.  We told them we needed to send a technician to their home for a quick “tune up” appointment.  But instead, we surprised them with brand new flat screen televisions as well as iPads and gift cards. And we weren’t alone. Over 400 technicians across 20 of our Xfinity tech centers from coast to coast surprised thousands of customers with gifts of appreciation. 

Our customers probably don’t realize the impact they have on us when we’re in their homes.  They share stories with us about their lives, their families, their happiest moments, their tough times – and their stories stay with us long after we leave.

So we asked our technicians to nominate customers who they thought needed a little extra holiday cheer this year. Nominations poured in from our techs  each sharing the names and stories of customers who they wanted to surprise with a special gift. Each story was more touching than the last, and, together, we selected some really deserving customers to surprise this holiday season.

The deliveries began right around Thanksgiving.  We were all excited … and maybe a little we pulled into our customers’ driveways. I had the honor of filling in for one of our techs who was on military duty.  He had nominated a retired police officer with over 35 years of service for our community.  She was shocked when she opened the door and saw me standing there with her brand new TV.  She said we made her day – but honestly, it made my year. I will never forget it.
